November 24th Tree Lighting & Visit from Santa Cancelled

Looks like the rain is going to continue tonight so unfortunately we are going to have to cancel the Tree Lighting and Visit from Santa. So sorry. We’ll still have a chance to celebrate the holidays at the Lansdowne Winter Lights Parade on December 8th. Hope to see you there! Please share this message and help spread the word. Thanks!

Small Business Saturday, November 24th

The Lansdowne Business and Professional Association (LBPA) encourages everyone to shop small in Lansdowne on “Small Business Saturday,” November 24, as holiday retail shopping is elevated with customer experiences.

The LBPA, Hennessy and Bullen and Dugan Accounting & Tax Services, Inc. are providing a Shoppers Shuttle on Small Business Saturday. Shoppers can park in the Highland Avenue municipal lot next to the Lansdowne Fire Station and ride the free Holiday Shuttle which will make stops on a continuous circuit around town from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. to take advantage of retail specials, sales and events from LBPA members. Riders can also stop and shop the fine art sale at A Bit of the Arts at the Twentieth Century Club, visit the Holiday Pop-Up Gift Shop of handcrafted merchandise at Utility Works and dine in one of the local eateries.

After shopping and dining, all are encouraged to stay in town for the annual LBPA-sponsored Tree Lighting Ceremony and visit from Santa at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans’ Mini Park & Lansdowne Landing, 30 N. Lansdowne Avenue (across from the Lansdowne Theatre).  The event features holiday music by Steve E Love Sound and a demonstration from Action Karate, welcome ceremony and tree lighting, and Santa’s arrival on a fire truck. Complimentary hot chocolate and hot cider will be provided by ESSA Bank and Regency Café will provide cookies. Santa and his helpers will spend time visiting with the children. Parents and guardians are welcome to take photos and bring their child’s Christmas list for Santa.

In the true spirit of the holiday, attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and/or non-perishable food items that the LBPA will donate to the local food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church of Lansdowne.

In case of inclement weather, check the LBPA Facebook page by 4:00 p.m. day of event.

Shuttle route can be found here.
